This course caters to those who have previously taken Astrology Foundations 1, or already have a strong understanding of traditional astrology basics. AF2 is a good place to start if you are a self-taught astrologer, or are astro-curious and have already begun a self-study practice (again, meaning you have solid basic knowledge).
If you haven’t yet taken AF1, it is advised that you do so first, in order to ensure you have the astrology knowledge necessary to understand this intermediate course.
Here’s what you should have a firm grasp of before signing up… think of these as your prerequisites!
Understanding of:
Signs
Planets
Traditional rulerships
Houses
Aspects
In AF1, we took in all the language and context that will be necessary to move forward with the next course. AF2 is an application of everything you learned first. AF1 is the lecture, and AF2 is the lab. From there, we can interpret and translate the chart.
This course will help fill in the gaps… and refine what to prioritize in your studies. Through application of these basics, things will begin to ‘click’! At this phase of study, you will start to see the chart in its big picture context, while being able to harvest the precise nuggets of wisdom held within the chart.
In AF2, we will learn…
Translation of each planet in each sign
Translation of each planet in each house
Translation of the Ascendant or Rising Sign
Chart patterns
The meaning of retrograde planets
House systems (Whole Sign, Koch, Placidus, etc)
House rulers
How to work with interceptions
Aspect patterns, degrees, orbs
